ADHD & ASD Assessments

We specialise in comprehensive, neuroaffirming ADHD and ASD assessments for children (age 6+), teens and adults. Our assessments are thorough, child-friendly and follow the Australian AADPA Evidence-Based Guidelines. You will receive clear results, personalised recommendations, and practical strategies for home, school, and daily life.

An ADHD assessment provides a clear, accurate understanding of whether your child (or you) meets criteria for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It identifies strengths as well as the specific challenges with attention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and executive functioning that may be affecting daily life.

What is an ADHD Assessment?

What Does It Involve?
Our assessments are multi-informant and include:

  • Detailed clinical interview with parents/carers (developmental history, symptoms, and impact)
  • Age-appropriate observation of your child
  • Standardised questionnaires completed by parents and teachers
  • Input from school/daycare (with your consent)
  • Evaluation of symptoms across at least two settings (home and school)

How Can It Help?

  • Uncover strengths and explain why certain tasks feel harder than they should
  • Provide clarity and reduce self-blame or confusion
  • Guide practical strategies for home and school (including educational adjustments)
  • Support applications for school funding, NDIS, or workplace adjustments
  • Inform future therapy and support planning

What to Expect

  • Warm, supportive, and child-friendly process
  • Usually 2–3 sessions (parent interview + child observation + feedback)
  • Full written diagnostic report with clear recommendations
  • Follow-up session to discuss results and next steps

Who Can Benefit?

  • Children (6+) and teens showing signs of inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity
  • Families wanting practical strategies and school support
  • Adults seeking clarity about lifelong patterns of attention and organisation

An Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment provides a detailed understanding of social communication, sensory processing, and restricted or repetitive patterns of behaviour. It highlights strengths and identifies areas where support may make daily life easier.

What Does It Involve?
Our assessments are comprehensive and include:

  • Detailed developmental and clinical interview with parents/carers
  • Structured observation using gold-standard tools
  • Information from parents and teachers about social interaction, communication, and behaviour
  • Evaluation of sensory preferences and strengths
  • Consideration of co-occurring conditions (such as ADHD)

How Can It Help?

  • Explain why certain social situations or sensory experiences feel overwhelming
  • Highlight unique strengths (e.g., attention to detail, deep interests, pattern recognition)
  • Provide practical strategies for home, school, and daily routines
  • Support access to school adjustments, NDIS funding, or other services
  • Reduce anxiety and build self-understanding for the individual and family

What to Expect

  • Gentle, respectful, and strengths-based process
  • Usually 2–3 sessions tailored to your child’s age and needs
  • Comprehensive report with clear results and recommendations
  • Follow-up discussion to explain findings and plan next steps

Who Can Benefit?

  • Children (6+) and teens who struggle with social communication, sensory sensitivities, or rigid routines
  • Families seeking clarity and practical support
  • Adults exploring whether they may be on the autism spectrum
